Looks like Both EU and US version will weigh the magic 900g, it shows that dji were conscious of categories in the EU and UK.

Wasn’t the rule less than 900g MTOM. MTOM may not be weight.

I think this drone was specifically designed to fit in with EASA rules, and I’m certain that there will also be a tolerance . Any meetings I attended regarding these rules tolerances was always discussed and it was agreed that there would be allowances more in principle than rule.
We have seen this for years in speeding where there are general rules of acceptance when motor vehicles go over speed limits, my brother is in the police here in Ireland and they are instructed not to charge those within 10% 0f the speed limit, you can be warned but not fined or charged. I think if you arrived in court because your 900 gram drone weighed 902g it would be laughed out of court. Common sense will apply within reason here. 676FDE0F-A9BC-45D8-A0D9-5757F8C3145A.jpeg

We will have to wait and see. But as EASA just changed the rules to 250 grams MTOM and not it out of the class this could be the same if there is an accessories.

The take off weight is 900g as per EASA rules, thats not for discussion.

Thats not the maximum take off weight though,   for example if they sell propeller guards like they do for the M2P that would add another 78grams,   EASA are saying maximum take off mass not just drone weight.

Same problem as the Mini2 will come up against.

Again he’s using the rules as printed, and he’s basically saying that if you driving a car at 61mph in a 60mph zone you will charged with speeding “but this will and has never happened”,  he offers no common sense at all, in all of his videos about this, “except his last one” on EASA rules.
without common sense we’d be living in a police state and we don’t. That’s because there is common sense. But yes we’ll see but my guess is we will never ever see anyone charged fined or sent to jail for flying a drone 5 grams over its weight category.

If you don’t use or purchase prop guard then you wont have a problem and if you are going to then you have options.

Well,   we have to wait and see what happens,   if its released without a Cx marking its unlikely to get retrospective classification (at least at a sensible cost) so will rule it out as an upgrade for me,  at least for now.

I saw something that suggested the standard Mavic 3 was only getting one camera too.

I think its how you define maximum,  my understanding was it was the maximum it could do not what it was for a specific flight,  it would be very hard to police otherwise.   But lets see what happens when they start classifying them,  until then it all speculation.

The full specs are on dronexl all models are the same except Cine model with extra HW for 1TB storage.

That certainly looks like they both do get both cameras.

I won't be buying a Mavic 3, the DJI band wagon of buying the next Mavic Pro X has ended for me, not because of cost, but due to regulation, UK and EASA. I can and have had plenty of fun with the Mini 2 at 249g. When Litchi finally get the SDK then my Mini 2 will have new software features that I hope will give it another lease of life. I still have my M2P but rarely fly it.

I may be interested in the next DJI drone that is less than 250g with specifications that truely make my Mini 2 inadequate.

I’m in the same boat. And just hope the CAA don’t adopt the new EASA rules to change grams to MTOM for the sub 250 gram class.  They seem to be trolling us almost making our mini 2 as useless as the m2p.
