When I transfer videos from the SD card to my desktop they play fine and look great on media player, but when I try to import them to my editing program (Cyberlink Power Director) and add a clip to the timeline they behave very strange, stuttering, stopping/starting and jumping from one part of video to another skipping footage in between. And lastly the video looks horrible in the preview pane. This is the 1st time I have had issues with any video using this editor. Any ideas whats going on?

I have no idea. The mini 2 options do not have a section for this. I just choose 4K 30fps. When I am finished filming I remove the sd card and copy the files to my desktop.

H264 is easier to edit.  Needs less computer resources.  Often people have it set to H265 but dont have a PC powerful & new enough to work with it well.

Where would you set it at. Ive never seen it in the optionson the fly page?

Oh that is weird.
Are you using the same framerate for editing as the media?

Your CPU might not be capable enough to handle such a complex software. I'm using a much more lightweight editor TunesKit AceMovi to edit my footage. It definitely works faster than those heavy ones.
