Hi  Alex. Is that a disused ski-lift? That mountain looks too rugged and stony to ski down. And was the walker  at 2min 50sec with you?

This was ski area with 5-7 ski lifts, only one (not visible here) is operational nowadays

Such a pity to see them abandoned. Is that because there is no longer enough snow for ski-ing these days?

Beautifully done Alex.    I would imagine it took a pretty good feat of engineering to install that lift.  Shame it is abandoned.

That's the proble - there enough snow but there money, politics and stupidity mixed here

Not really You cant see tracks from here only a ski path to them and a green track to the peak

In any case it's a nice place.

You might be surprised... I think if people saw what a lot of ski runs looked like without snow on them they'd never venture there in the winter.

I'll happily ski down things I'd never dream of trying to walk down (or across in some cases!) when there's no snow on them.

The first time I ever skied abroad the guy who arranged the trip's father came along to learn to ski.

He'd never skied before.

He had retired the year before and thought it was time for a new challenge.

He was 65 when he first put a pair of skies on... and that was far from the last time as I understand he skied for at least 10 years and quite possibly many more than that.

The thing about old dogs and new tricks is a myth, and skiing is a great new trick with lots of health benefits.

You don't HAVE to break bones... it's not compulsory.

I have seen some broken bones over the years, but I've seen far more unbroken ones
