This is a very carefully done comparison of the Action 2 and the GoPro 10 - yes, there's a lot of them about but this is really thorough it seems to me that some loss of detail with the Action 2 may simplly be caused by the extra information gathered by the very wide lens having to be squeezed onto an equal number of pixels, so some details are "falling between the pixels" if you see what I mean. But generally there does seem to be a problem with shadow detail disappearing, and low light performance being the opposite of what might be expected from the larger Action 2 sensor. Let's see what FW updates may bring...
Thank you for detailed review. On the video Action 2 always has poorer image details and looks washed out. Did you ensure the same ISO settings on both cameras? I can't believe Action 2 is so poor compared to GoPro

Thanks for that - I suspect your team are working late into the night to make this great product even better!
Hi are you the author of the video.
we check several footages and find it very strange. it is unacceptable of our IQ standard.

I think the heat issues even at 1080p are the biggest issue right now.
I just got the last one at my local Best Buy last night and am pretty impressed with the form factor, it's nice but if it can't do a long time lapse while hooked up to a USB power bank it might not be for me.
I wanted to do loop recording on a Kayak but I don't' think that's going to work right now.

No, it's not my video - maybe use the YouTube comments to contact the guy? But what it shows is consistent with most or all the YouTube comparisons I have seen - the camera simply does not "see into the shadows" and it seems very odd that the larger sensor (compared with GoPro etc) seems to offer no advantage in low light at the moment.

Thanks for the post. For my personal taste the wide angle distortion Action 2 has is a bit over the top, especially when there are people in the frame. I find the look disturbingly out of proportion and unnatural. I guess what Action 1 had was my limit...
