Cant seen to find out how many FPS the Mavic 3 shoots in Photo mode, is there a burst mode? anyone have any info on this? TIA

Thats the resolution of the sensor not FPS in Photo mode......

Burst mode. No idea. That would be usefull though. Maybe a short video could accomplish the same?

And take screen shots off the video you mean? Thats no good for a professional photographer who wants to take hi-res sequence photos

5K video is 14.7mp, photo mode is 20mp

25% away, Id say thats a fair bit

Yeah that wont cut it, it amazes me that this day and age they dont have it so you can shoot at least 5 fps DNG files but you can shoot 5k @ 50fps, all they need to do is tweek the software so you can shoot sequence shots

But if you save the frames from the video it wont be the same quality.

I cannot see any real advantage in burst mode, except in auto filming people or animals moving, it would a fruitless exercise with these lenses I’m not sure focus is fast enough, yes you might get a lucky shot but probably for every one you get you’ll end up getting 100 rubbish images. I think if you had a sensor that recognises cars boats people animals and can lock on while your moving it might work. But thats a whole lot of camera and sensor required. Someday maybe.

It has 3/5 FPS, but try it while flying its not possible  yes while stationary you might get what you got above, but as Daflys said bracketing or long exposure will give similar or better results.
Maybe they'll put it back in January with the new FW update. So putting up a thread might help with getting it back for Mavic3

I can absolutely understand the need from him.
I got some great shots of low flying flamingos, while my drone was above them.
I managed it only with the burst mode. And yes, it was difficult to get, as you didn't get a video feed for 3-4 seconds while doing a burst.
His example of shooting waves and being able to select the right moment is also well known for my side.

I’m not saying it shouldn’t be there, but if this is the most important thing you need in this drone “IE he wasn’t buying unless it had it” then this is definitely not the drone for him. To do what he wants to do correctly then there are other options in drones like drones where you have the option to change lens.
No photographer would use a Camera 3/5 FPS for shooting wildlife or sports or moving subjects. That was my point. And I’m all for putting it up to dji to implement this back in the new Mavic.

That's an amazing photo.  Similar timing to something I did a few times.  For several years, I was the team photographer for my son's Pony league baseball teams.  One of the photos I tried to get every year was a picture of the catcher with the pitched ball just an inch or two out of the catchers mitt.  I managed to get it every year, but it took A LOT of tries.  A burst on my DSLR would have made it FAR easier!

Thats great hopefully they take note and either put in a burst mode or even better continuous photos at 5-8fps DNG's with no blackout
