So basically January 2022 before we'll see how well it really performs.

Nice comparison.  I don't like that DJI wants you to accept an IOU on Active Track and Master Shots.  What if January 2022 comes and goes without a firmware update adding those functions?  Do you think DJI will buy the drone back.....no way.

Buy it from Amazon, you can return it up to Jan 31, 2022.  OOppsss did I say that.

Come on dude. You have a photo of an aircraft carrier in your avatar. Nobody takes more chances with their life than a Navy pilot landing on a moving postage-stamp-size landing pad in the ocean in a high speed low lift aircraft ;-) Chances are made to be taken.

OK...but between you and I, we may feel that we already had the best drone with the M2p. Is the M3 better? Sure... but how much better? I am expecting the best on Monday but prepared to be disappointed. My life in a nutshell ;-)

Thats how I felt about the M2P.  I will be waiting for all the updates before I buy.  In the meantime I hope some cheap second hand smart controllers come up.

Quite the difference between a calculated risk (carrier landing) and a crap shoot (trusting DJI).  

Congrats on buying the Mavic 3 Gary.
