Now for another problem that has been on the TTD list for some time.

Interesting find DA.  

Shows the difference in the before and after ProRes is absolutely phenomenal.  Short video but gets the point across.

Somehow I think Apple includes that in the price of the phone.  Albeit a hidden charge.  Of course I could be totally wrong.

That would imply that this years phones should have gone up. But they came down slightly.

Well that blow's my idea about including it in the price.  Apple definitely knows what they are doing or else they would not have been so successful for all these years.

iPhone certainly converted me.   I have gear running all the flavours out there but for a daily drive Nac & iPhone has been great.

I'm sure it is much easier to maintain one OS instead of having an OS fractured by most of the OEMs due to there varied mobile devices.

It the integration that sells it to me,   if I copy text to the clipboard on my Mac its also available to paste on the phone,   or headphones. You pair them once and all your devices can use them and they switch mostly seamlessly.

I'm sure the integration is fantastic.  I've just always been an open source type user when available.  I even use Linux on my PC and laptop.

I have about 15 Linux/freebsd servers but I still prefer windows/macOS for my desktop/laptops.

Yeah you can use that too.   I’m expecting new UPS batteries on Monday. My rack mount ups just through a fit over its current ones.

I have a big UPS to back up my onboard NAV system in case of power failure.  I also have a back up generator in case the main generators fail.  Talk about redundancy.

I thought most boats just had marine batteries and all the equipment ran on 12v.

Most small boats do.  Mine is classified as a mini yacht and as such has all the amenities of a home on land.

In the 20th century, the term "gin palace" came to be used for large ostentatious pleasure craft, such as a motor yacht or luxury yacht, typically moored in a marina and fitted with a sun deck used for outdoor entertaining and leisure, normally involving alcoholic drinks.  Yeah, that kind of fits the definition of my mini yacht.
