I'm presuming the Action 2 is a fixed focus device.  If it is, what is the closest focal point that retains a sharp image?

Thank you - that sounds about what I was expecting.  I don't need macro distances so that will be perfect.

My most recent video showed some closeups of some interesting flowers on a walk - somewhere in the video....

The chief thing to note in that video is the excellent sound.  With headphones on it is close to binaural, I find.

I just got mine and I think I normally hold my other action cameras about 7-9 inches out (and I'm 6' 1"). It seemed like I was a bit out of focus which was disappointing. The background was sharp. That will be one of the next tests I run when the sun comes back up. To get it out any further will require a near full arm extension or a reasonable selfie stick. Neither is highly desirable but it may be a case of it is what it is.

Confirmed.  From the specs page (https://www.dji.com/dji-action-2/specs):

I might test this... from my experience I think I've been getting acceptable results closer than that, eg a rose filling the frame - maybe it was soft and I didn't notice.  Hmmm.

Just got my Action 2 and noticed the background is sharper than any face in about 1m distance. Noticed similar issue in several YouTube Videos. Did somebody run a proper test on that topic? Seams like 0.3m may be valid for 1080p (acceptable sharpness) but for 4k it is a issue.

I'm also seeing an issue here. At 4K seems like it's focusing on the background when I'm shooting less than 1m?
