The old Pill Box.

These pill boxes are littered across the countryside.  They were built as defence and lookout points during WW2,  and have never been removed.   The ones that were constructed in the farmers fields are grown around these days.

Yes,  you can walk across some fields to it and then pick a path along side the canal.

Ive seen a couple like that recently,  theres one at Bawdsey that was on the cliff,    but erosion was the cliff away and its now on the beach.  Its still putting up a fight.

Yes.  I think they have calendar entries to remind them to drag out these stories at various times of year.

OMG>  you have those there too.  Most grocery stores are putting brake systems on them that will engage if leaving their parking lot sensors.

Some supermarkets have the break. Others make you insert a coin.  I saw a photo years ago of a key that goes into the coin slot to release the mechanism. Of course I had to reverse engineer it.  I made the first from aluminium, with a file. Now I just 3d print my design.  Everyone I know has one.

It works great and you never have to return the trolley.   It’s also quite fun watching people run over and grab it thinking they’re going to get the money in it. But of course it’s empty.

Some super markets I use people ignore it and others people go crazy for it,  you can tell the quality of the people using the store that way.
