Mavic 3 Tested with old Smart Controller,  and even though the software update shows support it doesnt work as expected. Credits to Hendrik for going to the DJI shop to find this out.

I see that the original SC is still available with either a Air 2 or Air 2S fly more/SC combo.  

Kind of a catch 22 with the SC.  SC not compatible with Mavic 3 and SC Pro not compatible with any drone prior to Mavic 3.

I don’t think the original smart controller has been available new for a while now.   I was hoping with all the upgrade happening I might have been lucky.

DJI already said support for the drones is coming in the future.   I dont believe theres any other drones shown when youre in binding mode.

I just had to check it out.  Went over and looked at it.  He said he bought it but never flew it and needed the money so was letting it go cheaply.  I asked if he would give it a test flight.  He said he didn't know how.  I told him I had one and could fly it if he was willing.  Then he admitted it might need a little work inside the drone as he never could get it started.  As the drone batteries were dead and SC battery was dead no way to test further.  Thanked him and left.

I dont think I know that story.   But at least it was one of the few places in NY that I enjoyed.    Everything else was fairly miserable.  I went up the empire states building and the staff just screamed at everyone the whole time.

New York is not known for being super hospitable.  Traveling from one borough to another is like leaving one European country and going to another country.

Ive spoken to a few people I used to work with that go there regularly and they said after 9/11 it really changed,  but still some feel the same way as I do.
