Will DJI have the decency to allow MANUAL control of the advertised zoom? I mean, full exposure and full optical 7X zoom control rather than digital sh......??

Doesn't look like you got a particularly useful answer, so let me try. It's all digital. Both cameras on the M3 have fixed focal length lenses. The Hasselblad is 24mm equivalent and the Tele camera is 162mm, i.e. approx 7x the Hasselblad.
Neither have any physical zoom capability. Any zoom level between 1x and 7x is a digital scaling of the main cam, anything between 7x and 28x is a scaling of the tele cam.

That tele cam is just a tiddly addon "phone cam" basically. Useful for finding stuff at a distance, but it's obvious that DJI don't intend people to use the imagery from it for anything serious. Hence no RAW, no manual, no HDR etc... Doesn't bother me, but everyone's mileage will vary.
