It's a small monument  ( only 1.5 metres high ) on the summit of Lantern Pike - a local hill.
There's a plaque on top with some detail, but it's a bit difficult to read.
Commemorates the work of Edwin Royce (1880 - 1946) in securing the Right to Roam for the English populace.

That's a funny shot. Had to look twice to make it out. Nice.

Yesterday we tarting up the utility room,   repainted the ceiling and the builder cupboard and put up new Kitchen cupboards,   Next job in there will be to finish the tiling,   the FIL never finished the room before he passed away.
