Thanks, guys, i couldn't believe it did that, i was watching it eat whatever it was eating, long and thin, then bang, it goes and drops the kids off at the pool, i knew i was going to include it but the funny ending came right at the end of the crude editing, was a last-minute idea, makes me laugh every time i watch it...

No, the Red Kite is my fave budgie, and are or used to be protected, there was a major breeding and release program not too long back, so I wouldn't put them in harms way, hence using the mini 2, less hurt than with my P4P, I did put P4P up for the 1st flight then thought better of it as they were too curious, so I use the Mini 2 instead, plus its got the zoom, I don't care too much about the quality, its just for fun. Gonna go back on Wednesday hopefully, mean to be a nice day albeit a little breezy, hoping they will be there again might even do a live video...

but it appears - after many fly-byes, that they figured the drone was nothing to worry about.  I liked that you did NOT get too close, or make

Oh, they had their eye on you, for sure. Deciding if the drone was a likely lunch.  Amusing ending

The Red Kites will not attack as a rule, they are quite far from the aggressor, you will normally see a crow or 2 actually attacking the Red Kites if they get too close to their nests, its one of the reasons the Kites plumage can look a tad bedraggled.

''Red Kites are scavengers and prefer to eat dead animals, roadkill. They have been seen to take smaller, softer animals such as mice, voles, rabbits, crows and pigeons but they are fairly weak hunters in comparison to say a buzzard. They also eat invertebrates such as beetles and earthworms, especially in Spring.''

For sure got a laugh out of the ending.  

That one at about 1.30.... even with the 4x zoom it looked a bit TOO curious - talons down and all!

I thought the ending was going to the sad demise of the mini 2!

I would say they were no more that about 5m, yeah, quite close but they wouldnt think about harming the drone, perhaps if i was bothering nesting but i wouldnt ever do that anyway, even then, the Red Kites aren't the aggressors, they run from a single crow lol I wasn't worried for the Mini 2, nor for the Kites, i would have been worried for both had i use the Phantom 4 pro cause that would cause some damage to the bird and the Phanton, least i have Care Refresh on the MIni 2
