Thanks Depp. Some of the land is grazed (mainly by sheep, but some cows) but the summit is open moorland. I've seen hare and grouse on occasion.

If I push it, I can do it from here in about an hour and a quarter. The first half is easy, along the Sett valley trail (former railway, so virtually flat. But once you veer off it's a non-stop steep slope to the summit.
One of you youngsters could do it easily in an hour I expect

Looks amazing.

Lovely footage.    Does appear to be a great place for a hike, albeit a bit of an incline. Around 2:13 looks like a light fog over the low lying grounds.   

Seems a little odd to see a conventional fence right next to a stone wall alongside the path.  Is that because of the sheep?

Thanks RDB.  The views are worth the climb.  The drystone walling is centuries old, and collapsing in many places. Many of today's farmers have neither the skills nor the time to repair them, so it's quicker and cheaper to put up barbed wire fencing.

I bought an extra small thermos last year so I could take abut a cup and half with me on outings like that.   At the time most places were closed so it worked well.

I got mine from Go outdoors,  its nice and slim so fits in many places quite well,  the downside is it doesn't stay as hot as a full size thermos.

I use a daysack rather than a full rucksack. It's big enough to carry my needs for half a day. Which is as much time as I'm out for, generally.

That stone wall just reminded me of many that I saw in Scotland.

Hi Monty. Yes. I was playing around with a free software called  MusicMaker (not MelodyMaker) from Magix, a few years ago, and managed to assemble a few tracks which were passable.  Here's the video I first used it in :
