I just couldn't justify the cost of the new Pro Controller with limited compatibility and pretty much zero hope of third-party support. Instead, I opted for a new tablet.

I picked up one of these too.  The battery life is insane, and the brightness is amazing!!  They are not good about security updates though, so hoping for the best at avoiding hacks etc.

It’s basically the same price as the old SmartController but it’s close to $400 less than the new Pro controller and haas the advantage of being able to run third-party apps, run the Mimo app, and be a fully functional tablet.

I’ll take a tablet that I can use in multiple aircraft (and different manufactures) , use on all DJI aircraft, run third party apps, has a brighter screen, better temperature range, and much longer battery life. O3 doesn’t really get me anything that I need.

Fair enough.  

The TriplTek 7 and 8 Pro are fantastic devices, I use them both. However, there is no substitute for a professional controller. That's one of the great things about DJI, they give you options. Using the Smart Controller with the M2P probably skews my opinion a bit. The TriplTek 8 Pro makes a great phone if you add a sim-card, but can get annoying flying my other birds using it.

As of today, can't use an RC Pro on the Air2S, while we impatiently await for DJI to push a FW update. Meantime, THERE is an RC Pro/A2S/Fly More bundle already out in the wild.
Gotcha is, you've got to buy it as a bundle, can't buy a separate RC Pro and pair it to an Air2S.

The Tripltek Tablet, along with the OEM RC controller for the A2S, takes advantage of the native O3 range support, negated with the SC (not the RC Pro).

I just bought the 8" pro.  I am very disappointed at the brightness.  I have the display brightness turned all the way up on the tablet.  It's no better than my Note 8 or the Samsung A7 that I returned because it was too dark.  Is there a setting the in DJI Fly app itself?  Or another setting on the Tripltek?  Not happy so far for the price this thing cost.  Thanks!

Nothing in the Fly app. I fly in the mountains of Colorado which has EXTREMELY harsh sun and I don't have any issues with mine. Try contacting Chris at Tripletek for advice.

Thank you for the review link on the tablet. I’m looking for something durable for search and rescue use/drone use and I think this one will be perfect for what we need.

They cost what they cost. There are no discounts anywhere. The RC Pro Controller costs significantly more.

I got my tripletex 8 pro and it works great for my air 2.  It worth buying as the screen is really bright and its better than using a cell phone.  Now my problem is to get the air 2 faa id compliant by  9/16/2023.  I guess when September rolls around my air 2 will be grounded.
