Well, not *really* in Wildwood. The park proper is off-limits for drones, as a couple of signs with a red line crossing a Phantom-shape figure would tell you.
So I hiked high enough on the ridge separating the park from the next valley (which does not have those restrictions) and launched from there.
My primary goal was to see if my forced firmware refresh did help with the "RC lost connection to the aircraft" error (it didn't )
I also tried the backpack (it was a 3+ mile hike with ~400ft elevation gain) and a few modes that I didn't try before.
BACKPACK.
Mixed feelings. I'm not a small person (6'1", 230lbs), but the straps in their tightest position feel pretty loose. The arrangement also feels weird, with the waist strap being too high.
No chest strap, really? Saving much?
Otherwise, it's OK. the upper compartment was roomy enough to hold the folded landing pad and a jacket (it was getting chilly).
The thing I liked the most was the color
SHOOTING
Tried AE bracketing, PRO pano, video, and precision landing.
AE worked fine.
Did a couple of "poor man's" panos in PRO mode. I really liked the ability to switch between AUTO and PRO mode, with all the pro settings maintained. I really don't get all the fuss about the FLy app being unusable. It's pretty darn usable if you ask me.
Video... Meh. I decided to try 5.1K in h265. For some reason, my Windows 10 cannot play it at all. It opens it, and then stops. Looks like I'm missing H.265 codec I uploaded it to Smugmug and Youtube, but it's not something I would be openly proud of. I feel my M2P was making better ones. Maybe bad light? I don't know. Feels pretty solid though, no vibrations at all.
Did a couple of panos in PRO mode. Oh well, Duh. Manual mode. Works. Nothing to write home about.
Finally did a couple of attempts of precision landing, since I brought the pad. Both attempts were successful, but not stellar, the second attempt landed almost within the inner circle.
As I have mentioned already, I'm still getting transient "RC lost connection to the aircraft" error upon landing. Working with DJI support on that,
Awesome works, DarthSLR! Thanks for sharing this with us. With regards to the error message, can you please try to re-link the drone to the remote controller and check if the issue persists? Thank you for your valued support.

I did, in my other thread.
Short version: requested replacement, new unit approved and should be shipped soon. Of course it happened over the Thanksgiving holiday, so "soon" is already taking 5 days, and counting...
