Hi Kacey2877, I feel sorry for the issues you encountered. Could you please provide the screenshot of the update failure message to me for further confirmation?
At the same time, please try to delete the firmware cache file in the DJI Fly app and try to update it again. If the update keeps failing. you may send the drone back for further diagnosis and service.
