Jeven did a great job on this video.  I saw it back in mid-late August.  However, my grandson was over and we watched it together just now.  You could see him getting excited to go out and try some new things.  Unfortunately, winds are gusting up to 25 mph so he will have to put it off until tomorrow. His goal is to upgrade from his Mini to an Air 2S.  He keeps hinting to me that it would be a great Christmas present.

12 years old, but sometimes he thinks he is 20.  


He is super smart, much smarter than I ever was.  He can already code in C+ and is currently working to master Python.

For sure.  He never stops amazing me.  He can get straight A grades and never seems to have homework.  The School IT Resource Room person got him started in coding about 4 years back and he has been at it ever since.  He says when he grows up he wants to be a Veterinarian but for now coding is his passion.

That’s amazing.  When I was at school at that age they only let the top of the class use the one computer they had.  I remember the teacher telling the rest of of us that we’d never be smart enough to use a computer.  It’s good to hear about the encouragement.

He is lucky to have such great teachers and a well supplied Computer Resource room.  Glad I never ran across a teacher like the one that told you that you would never be smart enough to use a computer.  Teachers with that type of attitude no longer belong in schools (at least that's my opinion).

Yeah, already a week into December.  

Yesterday seemed to pass super fast.  Had a short flight in the morning to check on some coastline and then a dive trip yesterday afternoon.  By the time that was done and I got back to the boat it was dark.

I agree.  I just keep procrastinating on which one I think I need.  When I thought I had it narrowed down to 2 then I had the idea of maybe buying an underwater drone so that messed me up on choosing.

The under water drones look cool but Im not sure how practical they really are.

A diving buddy has one and I've played with it a little.  It does have some limitations so I'll probably not purchase one.

That is the major limitation with them at this time.  There  are a few prototypes working on tetherless connection but they are extremely limited in distance from controller to underwater drone.

Yes. from what I understand from submarines radio doesn't work well under the sea.

There have been improvements over the years but no major breakthroughs unless a tether is attached and you can't do that with submarines.

Deeps, now that is interesting.  I rode a sub on a shake-down test and was quite amazed at the entire operation.  Didn't hear of anybody using nicknames at that time but I'm sure when fully crewed they started that practice.
