Found this on one of the FB groups
Mavic 3 service extention
TL'DR: you're precovered till Feb 8, then usual coverage starts.

care refresh is also included in  this, I think the least dji could do for early adopters.

Yup, pretty much, if you're pre-January 1 2022, you're pre-covered in any sense till Feb 8, and only then the real countdown starts.

the countdown for the time table, right?  the crashes still count...you still get two.  likely one of these will be spent during grace period, which is the reason for the extension, no?

But why the extra coverage? Is something different hardware-wise on the earlier release corrected after January?

Please refer to the DJI link I posted. I'm just a messenger, no idea how this is gonna play IRL.

Man, are you even following the M3 subtopic? M3 seems to be *the* most problematic DJI production release *ever*. No wonder they extend the service. Consider it a "trial-by-fire" period

I think this is an admission by DJI that the M3 was released way to early and was not ready…………. trying to get income from Christmas no doubt.

Good news indeed.   Makes me wonder if Feb 7 is when the new firmware will come.

From what I understood, the primary reason was to beat the new upcoming Autel Evo drone to the punch, so those who wanted a new toy, especially for Xmas, as per your suggestion, could have an easy choice. On one hand, this approach worked, but, as we all see, it also backfired some.
All in all, looks like an old mantra: act first, ask forgiveness later.

Unless this is some sort of a special day in Chinese calendar (the only one nearby I know is Feb 1, the Chinese New Year, so a week after NY?),  I can't think of any other reason than a planned FW update.
