After experimenting recently with the DJI Pocket 2 in SloMo (8x) mode, and then attempting to crop/zoom to detail, I achieved mediocre results, as the Pocket 2 will only record 1080 definition in SloMo. (See my post 'Robin in SloMo' in the Nature section).
Looking back in my archives, I found a different subject (Scaling the Torrs) which I had shot at normal speed with the Pocket 2, but in 4K (3840x2160 @ 50 FPS)
As an experiment, I took a one-minute segment from this footage, and zoomed it to 300% in Davinci.
The results seems fairly good, but perhaps 200 to 250% zoom might be considered the maximum before some pixellation of the expanded image occurs.
Observations appreciated.
50 fps slowed down to 25 fps already gives a nice "cinematic" slowmo. 300 % zoom does seem too much, even when viewed at the default resolution of the forum. I try to keep below 150 % if I shoot and post in 4K unless it's a fast motion that blurs the view anyway. I think 200 % might be the maximum and only if the footage is good quality to begin with (i.e. no low light with noise...).

Thanks Depp. I'll try your recommendations and see what happens

Cheers.
Of course it depends of your finished product. If you go for 1080p then scaling 300 % out of 4K shouldn't be a problem...
I'll do a bit of experimenting with existing clips from my archives, and then go out and record some more stuff with a better understanding of what settings to use initially. I'm still low on the learning curve
Not figured that out yet, but I think that could make matters worse. As Monty says - it doesn't look at all great on a full-sized HD screen. The electrician is beavering away in the bathroom today, so we may have no current for a while.
I'll do some more experimenting, in between power-cuts. We have an electrician working in our home and he needs to switch off the current from time to time

Yes, I know that feeling.
We have some major home improvements coming up (when there is enough budget).
All the rooms on the ground floor (scullery, kitchen, living room, toilet and bathroom) are nominated....

That sounds like several months' worth right there

Thanks. Too noisy here at the moment (drilling, hammering and banging) I'll study it this evening when the work is finished for the day.
These workmen are cramming your style, I bet you wont be down the coffee shop for a while.

Friday might be good. The electrician should finish first fix today. Plasterer tomorrow, then Friday and the weekend for the plaster to go off before Monday's restart for the tilers.

If it's fine I might get a flight or two in as well - but the forecast for Friday is rain (again). Sunday looks promising though.
We will split it in sections.
First scullery and kitchen (hopefully next summer, but that is not sure)
Then save for the living room.
(going to be a big upgrade that requires stripping it down to the sand and re building everything with insulation, windows etc. etc. )
