Prior to buying and diving into the Air 2 I thought it woud be best to purchase a lesser cost DJI to train myself and found a brand new Mavic Mini Fly More combo for $277.00. I then found a new Air 2 FMC for $899.00.
I have flown RC planes and Heli's for 40 years so handling a controller in mode 2 was like second nature. Being that RC Heli's are like standing on a soccer ball to hover, I found the mini a piece of cake. Just about 50 miles on the mini with no issues whatsoever. I have completed all features with the mini and going to spend another week with it prior to first flyt with the Air 2.

I have my Trust cert and Faa license and confident in the success with the Air 2. I did much research before purchasing DJI product. The reviews by independant folks and the kowledge base of those most experienced sold me on this product.

Does anyone have an opinion on the Smart Controller, pro's and Con's, verses the standard controller included with the Air 2?
I'm reading allot of conflicting information, some love it, other hate it?

I'm new to this drone world but from other tech stuff I've been involved with seems like the SC is the way to go, long term.

As always, I value the veterans input on these things.

Congrats on getting both the Mini and Air 2 Fly more combos.  Those were great deals.

One advantage to the SC is that connection to AC is much faster and the display tends to be much brighter.  With the introduction of the new Pro SC it has become very hard to find a SC unless you buy one in a Air 2 or Air 2S combo.  If you look on eBay you'll see the prices are quite high.  New ones are no longer listed on DJI, Adorama B&H sites.

Okay, being a newbie..... My Samsung galaxy S8 works perfectly,,,,, EXCEPT, how the heck do you exit DGI FLY app?????
I always need to "restart" my phone to shut it down. I have swipped up, down, left, right, one finger, two fingers!!!!!
Is this a bug or please share what I am missing.

Normally you just swipe like in any other landscape app.
