Why does my Osmo Action 2 sometimes (randomly?) take extremely poor quality video footage? It looks like it's heavily zoomed in, but it's unacceptably low quality pixelated, you can barely recognise a face:



Does it have anything to do with the fact I am using power saving mode?

I've recorded at 1080px. Then other videos shot with the same settings are full quality. It's difficult to predict if it's low quality or not, before you check the footage on the computer.

Off the top of my head I can only think that you accidentally used the digital zoom feature - it's not that hard to activate that function inadvertently.

Ah that’s possible although I’d rather not have footage (or one that has a warning it’s poor quality while recording) than footage that turns out to look like it’s been taken by a potato once transferred to the computer.

It is zoomed in to the max.
The action 2 has a much wider field of view by default.
