My Spark is around 4 years old.  As most of you Spark owners out there.   Is the Spark still a capable Drone in 2021/22 ?  Well, I think so.  Apart from being a 2 axis Drone the 1080p footage and colour is still fantastic.   Flight time for me has dropped from around 12mins per battery to around 8-10 mins.  To be expected after several years.  In any case I hope you enjoy the scenic views with the Spark.  Filmed on Location in Phillip lsland, Australia.   Stay safe everyone and Happy Flying.

Lovely footage Greg,   only issue I see with the spark is it can be hard to get new batteries.

I thinks that’s part of the planned obsolescence.

I think Spark is still a nice drone.
The issue I had with it (before buying) was that it only records 30fps and I needed 25.
Also the lack of a third axis felt too limiting.
Mini2 is a worthy replacement I think .

I totally agree.  Without having a 3 axis Gimbal it tends to be a little jerky at times.   I looked at the Minis but went to the Air2, which at the time was a massive step up from the Spark.

It would be a worthwhile exchange, but where are the smart features?
Spark "tuned in" knows all the features of Mavic and a few more with the Litchi app.
Unfortunately, these are missing from the Mini2

True, that would be a small step back. But the camera system of the Mini 2, plus the flight time are more important to me.

I get critical low battery warnings indoors with high battery percentage.  I think the OA inside eats tons of voltage.

I bought a refurbished Spark in Feb 2020. Still enjoy flying it for recreation.

I had so many great adventures with my Spark.  It will forever hold a place in my heart as a quad that allowed me to fly so much more.  It now resides in a display case with several other retired birds.  I really enjoyed your video, especially the BRAT....

DJI made the Spark really well.   It's still flying today for me.  Not so much for making videos but just quick flights at the local Park.   Soon mine will be retired too

What I don't understand:
Why don't you use your old phone, remove all personal data, remove the SIM card (that disables mobile network and telephony, which you don't need to fly the Spark anyways), and just fly?
Yes, its bad that DJI does not provide an updated app to have it run on modern Android version.
But it is just sooo easy and obvious to circumvent this.

While I mostly fly with an A2S, I still fly with the spark occasionally.

I an angry that i sold Spark hoping for Mini is great. But not for me. I miss quick selfie on vacation, hikiing, just hit power button without pairing to phone and controller. Just quick action. If DJI not bring back this or gestures to Mini 3 i will buy Spark or Air 1 again.
In other topic DJInsaid that is possible so i will waiti g for Mini 3 or uptated Mini 2

Yes I had my Spark for nearly 5 years now
I still take it for a flight once in a while - over 3-4  mths..
Sometimes I let my kids play with it...
It was my 1st Drone and I have a nostalgic feel towards it....

We loved our Spark.  As long as you don't need to fly it out too far it was a solid piece of kit.  

While new models may have innovative features, the older drones still manage to maintain a standard.
