Thank you for watching!  I use 5.1K H.265 VBR Normal mode  variable aperture without ND filter. The variable aperture of M3 is very useful for different weather conditions. 　

Yes variable aperture is amazing when you take a video. I missed this thing on the Air2S. I can't wait for try my M3

Thank you for watching!  It's cloudy day, so I don't need to worry about the green dots. I have experieced how to hide the green dots while shooting the sunrise or sunset.  I often find green dots in my sunrise shots on Mavic 3. The only way to hide the green spots is changing the angle of gimbal. The adjustable aperture might help.

Just wondering why you used a variable bit rate instead of a constant bit rate?

The Mavic 3's main camera has an adjustable aperture from f/2.8 to f/11. It makes the camera more flexible in different lighting conditions.  

The most notable advantage associated with the CBR file format is that it offers faster data processing. That means when you compare CBR vs VBR in terms of data processing speed, CBR wins. Nevertheless, when it comes to the quality factor, the output files of CBR don’t come with better optimization. Again, when you compare CBR vs. VBR in quality perspective, VBR is better. So, in a nutshell, it is basically a matter of selecting quality over speed or vice versa.

Yes, I prefer 5.1K / C4K  H.265 VBR Normal settings. I am not good at DLog with LUTS.

I'll have to give that a try! Thanks for the info - I always was told VBR was slightly "worse" in quality. I always use normal settings as well.

The consistency of CBR makes it well-suited for situations where video content must be encoded in real-time. CBR is not suited for storing data.  With VBR encoding, segments of data are packaged by their complexity so that the transmission is optimized. Encoding in VBR makes it possible to process at a higher bitrate and transmit larger files.

Thanks! Do you notice an actual difference in H265 in shooting between VBR and CBR in 5.1k?

There is no absolute answer, but you can try shooting under different settings and find the best setting for you based on your needs/purposes.  Some people still like to shoot 1080P video, not necessarily 4K/5.1K.
