Thanks for the info Ann.  I just bought my grandson a Hero 10 for a Christmas present.  Maybe I should have bought 2 and kept one for me.  

UPDATE:  Just checked out backscatter website and saw some great videos of their lens/filters.  Thanks for sharing.

Backscatter has some nice things. I bought the housing and flip system from them.

In doing a bit of light research it appears the only real big difference between the 9 and 10 is the new faster processor.  

Hopefully, he will put the gift to good use.  He competes and also observes many sporting events so I thought it might be something he could use.

A lot of people do and did.   The hike was so hot and it was very refreshing.  I only walked in a bit.  I don't like cold water.  

Man this looks amazing, cool that you were able to get this.
