Following the snowfall and subsequent melt in heavy rain last week, the two converging rivers in the gorge below our home have risen rapidly. The thunder of the water pouring over the weirs can be detected indoors, without being intrusive. I took a walk down there yesterday, with the Pocket 2, and the water is roaring over the weirs. The noise is deafening. I've commented before on the fact that, when zooming in on a subject with the Pocket2, there is a volume increase as though one is approaching the focus point.
It should be driving the Archimedes Screw Electricity generator, but that's silted up again. More rain is forecast, so those weirs will be overtopped for a good while yet.

The wind and rain is beginning to pick up here now. Seems the storm Barra is slowly getting here.

The bare branches along the boundary fence are whipping about wildly in the wind, and there's drizzle too. Definitely an indoors day. The tiler is here doing the bathroom.

Same here. Just putting the workshop back in order after the boiler was serviced this morning.
wow, a very large flow. I like the amplification of the audio when getting closer to the noise source. Where will the ducks be today? thanks for sharing Capt!

The audio amplification is a feature of the P2 QQ it functions with the Zoom automatically. And I expect the ducks will be much further downstream today (Or upstream above the top weir where the flow is calmer and there are some backwaters.)

That's full on! Hadn't noticed that the microphone zooms in with the lens, thanks for the tip!
It's something I spotted last time I filmed the weir, trying to get the heron fishing (missed it) in the Spring. When I played back the zoom I noticed the sound got louder. So I discovered the feature by accident
Wow, great footage! Very cool how the zoom in increases the audio. Sure is a shame the Archimedes Screw is silted up as this would have been a great opportunity to generate electricity.

Hi RDB. Yes the "sound zoom" is an interesting feature that I discovered by accident The generator is a community project, and I think the maintenance is done by volunteers. They'll be along at their earliest convenience to clear it out and get it running again. It does provide useful current for a goodly portion of the year.

Interesting to know that it is a community project.

Not seen it mentioned anywhere in DJI's instructions or elsewhere; think you've discovered it first!
