STILL no ability to disable landing protection. I want to be in control of the drone landing and how close I can fly to the ground.

I did that on the M2P with a bracket by accident and it didn't want to land at all.   Had to very slowly bring it down a bit then up a bit and then down until I could hand catch it.  Im now very careful attaching the bracket.

The latest dji fly app i get is 1.5.1 (581)
how can i get the latest dji fly app when appstores latest are 1.5.1? (Norway/Europe here)
oh wait.. reboot of the ipad and refreshing the app update list made the 1.5.4 be available :-) thanks.

If iOS, search for the app in the App Store and it will give you the option to upgrade.

If Android, download the APK from the DJI download pages and install it.

I have just updated and DJI fly app confirms that firmware is 1.00.0400 but none of the features are showing as available.  I have closed app and switched off controller and Mavic 3 (basic version).  Any ideas why?

Firmware requires the Fly App to be updated to the latest version to give an interface to the firmware.

The update is actually three updates, the Fly App, from your App Store or by downloading from the DJI Website, The remote firmware and finally the aircraft firmware.

I find if its a big update then the quickest way is to use Assistant 2 connected to the controller only (RC Pro) and download the full package, then restart and then power up the aircraft, the controller will then update the aircraft.

All done in about 10 mins with no issues.

Sorted now, my Fly app had not updated to 1.54.   If anyone else has the same problem, I had to force it to update via the App Store..

This is a nice start on updating.

Interesting... My FW size was only 370Mb or so, not 1.7G as some people here show...

mine also 370 mb

I shouldn't have to bodge the drone, when it's a simple setting that DJI should enable. I pitty anyone trying to land a drone on a boat with landing protection enabled (let alone not being able to switch to atti mode).

That is exactly my dominant use case, flying from and landing on water craft.

After the update, applied an unlock to an area and upon approaching a warning zone the M3 stopped. Other than ascend and descend it would not move. No RTH. No forward, no reverse. Nothing. Had to go to the M3s location and descend safely. Going to try to roll back.

Today two testflights with new fw and sw. Still some issues with OA; speed is pumping; cannot get constant speed. Turning OA off helps to get proper smooth panning.

Flying this morning with the unlock from DJI. Fly out to the edge of the unlock, get the warning, drone stops dead. No forward, no back only up down. No RTH. Just stopped. Had to go to the M3s location and descend safely. Anyone else have this issue? *Edit. This is after the FW update

Would you please try to remove the lens cover and put an ND filter on it ...

The M3 obviously recognizes the (not yet available) wide-angle lens ...

I lot of people are reporting WOBBLE when doing mastershot

I installed the firmware update with no issues.  That said, I was testing the Active Track (walking) and when the drone was behind me it was fairly smooth.  When I put the drone in front of me (it was going backwards) it swayed from side to side, up and down and almost seemed out of control and I had to stop the process.  I repeated the process three times and had the same results.  I am not sure what is going on.
