Installing now.....

1.5.4 installed, automatically RC firmware installed for the MINI2, not for the RC AIR2...

4 axis and only 3 buttons, they combined Pitch and Roll.

Nope, it is a sensitivity setting for the sticks.
So you can set a 'curve' where (for example) the first part of the stick movement is not very sensitive and the last part is. That way you can have both 'small' changes and 'big' changes in one stick movement.
It makes it more easy to make controlled smooth flights, since you don't have to be super accurate in the first part of the stick movement.
It is something I have grown to like from my previous drone (Mavic Pro) and I missed this a lot.

Its very personal,   and as its just been released its hard so say if the smooth settings from the go4 app will be the same here,    currently gale force winds here so cant test either.

Well, there is no 'best'.
It comes down to preference.
Just explore what you like best.
It might take some time to get used to, especially if you have developed muscle memory already.

I know that there are no best settings for this. I forgot to put the quotation marks. I will play with those settings as soon as the wind is coming to his senses.

Yes, I see.
I prefer to have the first part of the stick movement less sensitive (so I can do slow continuous moves).
And the last part more sensitive (so I can accelerate when I feel it is needed).
But this is how I used it on the MP, so I have to see how the M2 reacts.  

Have been just out for short, cold, 20min flight.
Everything seems to be ok on my Galaxy S20.
But changing EXPO is not so easy on the small phone screen.
Finally i keept the settings that came with the installation because they are already comfortable for me.
What i missed are the settings for cine mode. These can be quite more smoothned.

Yes. It would be nice to be able to set a max speed in cine mode.

A question, are these sensitivity settings stored on the drone or the controller or the phone?

I have a phone with 1.5 on it for using with the FPV drone and I could up date that to 1.5.4 . My other phones have earlier versions (deliberately NOT updated ) for use with the Mavic Mini  and the Mini 2. if the settings are stored on the drone it might prove to be a way of adjusting the response of these other drones.

Or is this an M3 only  feature.

One way to find out I suppose lol.

I don't know where the EXPO settings are stored, but i think they are stored in the controler because If the app will crash they need to be available even then.
Over all the settings are different for my MA2 and my Mini2, but in each original controller.

It looks as if it's the drone or the controller and works at least on the mini 2 too. Rudder set to 0.9 something (full yaw rate with ANY yaw stick) for an indoor test swapping between 1.5.4 and 1.3. I will try a different controller later.

Im not sure where they are stored.   On the M2P Ive had them reset with an app update, so that would be my guess.

That will be handy as I swap between controllers from time to time.

Likewise, I am hoping it's the drone.

I just tested it. Too foggy here for a good test, only went straight up and back down. The best new feature is fantastic!!! Exponential settings for the joysticks!! I will wait for a clear day to test completely, but I have noticed that the video transmission and RC connection are now almost the same distance. This has been since 1.5.***.

Would you elaborate on that a little bit? What do you mean by the RC connection range and video are about the same? Has this not been the case for you? I use 1.4.8(1185) and I have never noticed the time we're flying and not being able to get video the same as my transmission connection. Also how would you be able to tell if you only went straight up and straight down? Wouldn't you had to fly pretty far in order to be able to test that out?

Ocusync is the video connection between the controller and drone. Sometimes that connection is lost while the control signal is still strong. There are many YT videos showing this. Before, I could fly several hundred yards after video loss, now the video lasts almost as long as the control signal. And, you do not need a video device in order to fly. Thats kinda what i thought you meant. I asked only because I've never had it where I lost signal or video. So I guess if you're seeing an improvement, then maybe we might all see an improvement in distance. Could be that there's a lot of interference Where You Are. But regardless, glad to hear that you're seeing a range improvement on both fronts.

I just tested this,   changed the settings on the smart controller and then repaired to the original controller and iPhone and checked the EXP was still my custom value so its stored on the drone.

Android, IOS and the Smart Controller all got the update.

Today I did my first tests. This function enhances filming fantastically. The action is visible on both sticks, but on the throttle it doesn't seem to work at all. Can anyone confirm this?

They still havent fixed the yaw reset though. thats what, 10 app versions across the range now

Why not on CineMode, where mostly needed????
