Yes,   taken at low tide just off the thames,   It was a really grey day.

It varies but on average 5 metres.

Sadly not. Neighbours have got the painters (of a certain race/type) in and I need to stick around as they are making a real mess,   already had to clean my car / drive/ doors/windows etc once as they used a pressure washer pointed towards my house and transferred dirt and old paint everywhere.  Then they managed to get cement all over my car.

Its slightly higher in the south due to the channel between us and France,  as you move further north the variation drops to a couple of meters.

I did say a few words.   They are now avoiding me I think.   But the people that did it painted the house really badly and they appear to have accepted it.   But what can you do.

Sorry to say it, but again you just can't fix stupid.  I applaud you for showing great restraint.  I'm sure I'd have been a whole lot more aggressive in confronting them on the issue.

There a particular type of trades person that have a bad reputation because of where they are come drama,   but I heard SHMBO'd got a bit stressed  with the neighbour,  I wasnt aware.

Kind of glad my closest boat neighbor is 1.5 miles away.

Probably not a good idea, weather wise.  Northern Scotland is always windy and many days with very strong gusts.
