Not quite a totem, but I spotted this one peeping at me as I came out of the café this morning.
I swear he wasn't there last week   The Pocket 2 was there with me to capture the evidence.

Yes. Lat week it was something different.  I think they refresh this ART BOX, as they call it, periodically.

Due the falling demand for public telephones in this mobile phone era, a lot of the old boxes have been repurposed.  Defibrillator machines, book-swap cabinets. And here, an Art display.

Many have been removed, of course. Some rural ones are used for the strangest things.  Garden tools storage, one near here has tomato plants growing in it, and another is used by a local smallholder to display his stack of eggs for sale with an honesty box for payments
