Will the new DJI Wireless Mic work with the Insta360 One X2?

I too just purchased the DJI wireless mic system and wish to use it with the Insta360 X2. Based on how some of the cages for the X2 cold shoes are configured it 'appears' to me that the Mic receiver is too wide since it would not be mounted against the side of the X2 thin side mounted. So once I receive my unit I will test it but feel it may be necessary to purchase a long 3.5mm male to male cable, attach one end to the X2's mic adapter and then run the wire down to a mount below the selfie stick to house the DJI mic receiver.
