The entire day today - nice, warmish weather (65F/18C), not a single cloud in the clear blue sky, light breeze from time to time.
As I did my daily hike (I went a bit earlier than usual), I noticed a slight haze gathering on the western horizon.
There is hope, I thought to myself.
Stepped out of the house 20 minutes prior to sunset: could see some whispies over the neighbor's roofs. OK, made sure my M3C is ready.
5 minutes prior to sunset: good to go. Not the entire sky, but enough to justify a flight.
Maverick goes up and starts cranking, and I'm just sitting there enjoying the view.
Too relaxed, I say, as after I prepped the hyper-lapse, I forgot to switch from the sports mode to normal, so the timelapse came up super shaky. OK, another lesson learned.
Below are some frames and the movie I made for the timelapse and more frames.
Big thank you to the helpful crowd of this forum for various pointers!
This is how it looked when I went up (-5")
This is what it was right after the timelapse/sunset: not enough clouds/light for a big lens pano, but more than enough for the "fun" x7 lens
Then just waited a bit for the upper layers to light up.
As always, +10" and +15" did not disappoint!
A single frame from +15"
A 3x8 pano from the main lens at 15"
A farewell 22 frame pano at +20" (had to change the battery before this one, as I started not on full one)
Thank you!
It's so much easier to do sunset with the new M3C batteries. With M2P I was always short on juice so sometimes was too late for the show, or would run out just when the colors would peak.

You're very welcome Darth.
Great to hear that the M3C is working out so well for you. I'm sure it will get even better with a few more tweaks from DJI.
