The P2 is always to hand, so I was just in time to focus on the bird before it spotted me and took flight.

Very nice - though you could speed it up til it actually flies off.

Or maybe clip the first 20 seconds or so of what you see, where nothing much happens.

That would be the easy solution. Depends on the editing software what and how well you can do it..

I spotted one in the local fishing lake and watched it for ages and it didnt appear to move.  Since I told some one about it they suggested it might not be real and put there to deter other birds from eating the fish.   Ive not been back to check yet.

Plastic ones are quite common on ponds in rural France.
We were fooled more than once.
It dawns on you when you're walking past a second time and the thing is in exactly the same place

I watched it for ages through the reeds and couldn't work out if it moved or not,   I will go back and check soon.  I bet I was fooled by it.

It was raining when I was watching it so didnt have a clear look,   I checked google maps but theres nothing close enough to see it.   Im intrigued now so will have to revisit.
