I was up in the moors near Huddersfield (UK) minding my own business when along came some buzzards. They weren't bothered by the drone at all. Thankfully rather than attack the drone, they were quite curious. Made for some “once in a lifetime footage”. When they were hovering along side the drone my heart was pounding. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

It most certainly is. I was up there trying to film the paraglides when this happened.

I've been up there a number of times, as it's close to home. But each time I've taken the drone I've found it too windy to deploy it.

Very cool footage.    The birds were definitely inquisitive and came really close.  

Were they really buzzards or hawks?  

Great to see them fly close by, your moors look very similar to the valleys in wales where i live, lots of buzzards but crows tend to shoo them away as soon as they appear. i would try and capture the buzzards here but they seem quite aggresive and a larger species. jon

And the drone keeps fighting the wind.....

It’s a great location but as you say, the weather can be extreme. I’ve had a lot of wasted trips trying to get a sunrise from up there.

They are European common buzzards. In the USA they are small compared to native birds. Your buzzards are like pterodactyl

I had to stabilise the footage in post. The wind was gusty. The worst kind for steady filming.
