Hope all is well. I am interested in buying a DJI Phantom 4 RTK. I am particularly interested in using the terrain awareness mode to map archaeological sites on hillsides. I learned that DSMs can be imported into the controller and used in the app. I am assuming these DSMs are LiDAR-based. Can I also import freely available ASTER or SRTM 30m DEMs for use in terrain awareness mode? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

you can import any dsm you want. No matter how it was acquired.

Wondering has anyone used an open source DTM (such as SRTM 30m with GSD of 30m) as your base map for DJI Terrain Following Flight? I wonder will the drone move up/down smoothly or drastically if the next pixel's height differs greatly.
