A yearly throwback....

So this time last year a local Church was broken into and used for an illegal new years rave,  shortly after the news broke the Daily Mail,  one of the UK national newspapers contacted me for permission to use my drone footage of the church.  So one year today this video was used with the papers article.   

It turned out to be my most watched video of the year.

Nice place. Just looked it up and so, what seems to be in the middle of nowhere is actually hemmed in by big roads. Quite a way off from the castle! Congrats to the use of your video by TV!

What an amazing church and very nicely filmed DA.

Looks a great place. I'm guessing there was no rave there this year?   Kudos for getting the press interested in the footage.

Thanks Depp.  This used to be on my way to work.   There is one main road and two other very small roads.   Fun fact a V2 rocket landed on the main road right in from of this church,  and the verged along that stretch were used for housing soldiers on the move.

Cheers Mr B,   No since then they have installed CCTV and removed a lot of the bushes to make it more visible,  There is also a security patrol there now according to the local paper.

I was lucky the Daily Mail found me,   I had to check though it wasnt a scam at first.

My PC already has problems spitting out 2.7K (at least with my old Sony Vegas).

Indeed,   but in this case they broke into the church and did quite a bit of damage. It was definitely a money making exercise as they sold vouchers on the door for the drinks etc and then when they got raided the organisers were long gone with the takings for the entire night.

There were a few sites in that area where V2 landed,  one crater is still there and used by mountain bikers.   In another wood nearby I actually found part of the engine of one,  I saw not long ago the wood got sold and the new owner sold the engine bits off.

Surprisingly the PC was OK (well no worse than 4k) yet Youtube took 2 days to process it.

YT knows it is quite irrelevant to have these high resolutions.
I have not looked very recently (they removed the report), but I remember 85% of the views was on 720p
I noticed they serve quite low resolution by default and you have to select (or have selected your default) higher.

Last I saw the quality was set based on the speed of the connection.   But of course 8k is not supported on many devices.

I didn't even know the Mavic 2 did 8K.  The TV on my boat is only capable of 4K.  Bit too expensive still for me to look at upgrading that TV to 8K.  Besides, I don't spend a lot of time watching TV anyway.

Its an old historic church which doesn't get regular use but the "friends of the church" have been doing it back up and adding security to stop it happening again.

Yes.  You just create the project in that format and when you export it does the hard part for you.

I have Final Cut Pro but just haven't used it a lot yet.  Still in the learning mode.
