I love re purposing.

Theres quite some work in cleaning it up as they have wedges top and bottom,  so to get them rectangular you have to cut off two triangles and then plane and thickness them,    lots and lots of mess but as its old mahogany its worth it,   would waste the time on a softwood.

I totally get that.
Although I did reclaim some old pine today.
I really love the look of old wood that has been around for many years and shows the signs of being used.
This used to be a small attic in the garage, thick tongue - groove boards.

Same reach,  but you dont have the two rails behind so it fits nearer to the wall.

Normally there are two round rails that the saw slides along,   but that means you need 12" plus behind the saw,  so they came up with this folding arm that saves that space.

I didnt get one as I wanted a furniture grade saw for accurate cuts, rather than a job site saw and at the time the new version hadn't been proven,  but it turned out to be a good upgrade.

It truly is all about the timing.  The parts I ordered for the M2P are now in a container on a boat.  Probably one of the 52 boats sitting off the port of Los Angeles waiting to come in and get unloaded.  Oh well, whats another week or two.

Thats a pain,   I hate waiting for slow deliveries.   

Well the lovely sunrise finished and the fog rolled in,  its barely got above 4c here, but today was apple tree pruning day at the MIL's.  But I did get one flight in with the Smart Controller and Litchi with the mini2,  took a couple of HUGE panos 48 AEB shots so 144 images in total,   so that could take some time to stitch.

Thats good to hear,   I think the opposite is true here.  Even places that make real wood furniture like oak are going out of business.

I flew one battery and tested out the pano feature,  you get to set how many rows/columns/heights etc.  Took a 150 shot image which is due to be stitched.

And I'm quite sure there is not much data about this.
My brother in law has a small company that don't fit a regular job and he has a workshop that specializes in this kind of work.
They have contracts with some small demolition companies so they are allowed to get scrap wood after demo or even help with the demo when the wood is valuable.
The 'employees' clean the wood and he cuts it to standard sizes and sells it again.
Amazing what he gets out of that part of the cycle.
