The secret camp - a closer look.

After failing on my attempt to find a path into the area to see what was going on,   although I did find another abandoned tent,  bags of coal and a MAPI torch.  I sent the drone in for a close look.  Still not clear whats happening,   but there are a lot of pots.

Are there any reported prison escapes in the area?

I would most def call the cops.
They are not making candy here.

The local prison closed years ago,   Next to this area there was a flat tent and bags of coal.

It really looks like a lab for making hard stuff.
(don't want to spell it out here).

There is a local stream right by it.   Just trying to see if there is a good contact for the local ranger.

Otherwise, just contact the police.
It does look a lot like what we are seeing here in these labs. (when they are discovered)

Ok, odd.  .

Hopefully the mystery gets solved in a peaceful manner without anybody getting hurt, no matter what it is about. But good that you informed it to the authorities. It's better to have them see it out "for nothing" if there is nothing odd going on, rather than just turn a blind eye to it and later hear some bad news.

Looks illicit, well done on reporting...if a difficult to reach / find location, the people who put the stuff there will probably be up to no good.

I have a strong suspicion that whatever is going on there is not legal.  Of course, I could be quite wrong but based on remoteness, stream nearby, etc I really doubt it is legal.

Yes its about a 1.5 miles from the nearest road,  so someone pulled a brown wheelie bin a long way over rough ground.

No reply from the rangers yet,   if I see the local one over the park I will mention it,   just dont want to draw too much attention to droning along there.

The local ranger I've spoken to a few times so I dont think he'd have a problem,  but the email address they have goes to the country level,  not that they have replied.

They may not reply directly to you but pass the information back down rather slowly to the local park ranger.  Just a bit intriguing as to what that secret camp is.

I will be looking out for him.   In the meantime I will send the drone over again to see if anything has changed.

little update.   Went past yesterday and sent the drone over and then followed the paths to see how to get in,   think I found the spot but it was overgrown.

Then a mile further up the path I saw the ranger,  he (maybe she not sure) had been cutting back the trees and they stopped, lit a fire and was boiling an old fashioned kettle.   He was aware of the tents but they had long been abandoned when they came across them.  They assumed it was growing stuff.
