I'm curious if anyone knows off-hand the thread size for attaching a lanyard to the controller.

I am assuming you're referring to the RC Pro or the Smart Controller, they are the same.

I measured them it was a fair bet they would be metric, only you guys doggedly stick to the imperial system ;-)  and M4 fits perfectly.

No worries, I swing both ways. Back in the day you could get away with using standard only but no more. Also the depth as measured is approximately 11mm or about 3/8 inch (imperial...) I ordered some M4 Male Thread Machinery Shoulder Lifting Ring Eye Bolt Here's the link just in case all you need are the bolts

The first image shows the bolt is the exact fit but is too long

- how long were these to begin with? Looks about 12mm. I found a link to M4x10 -- a 10mm version

Hoping I won't need to shorten it with this smaller smaller eye-bolt but if I do -- did you have any issues with cross threading after cutting it? How'd you cut it?

Good call with the PeakDesign tether, I use their clips religiously and this makes 100% sense for me (I usually have at least one of these clips on me even when I'm not shooting lol).

I used a Dremel cutoff wheel and then smoothed and slightly rounded the cut end. no issues with burrs or cross-threading. Here's the link to the bolts I got. https://amzn.to/3QeVgF3
