Common practice for me is to charge depleted non-DJI LiPo batteries to 50% before putting them away and charge them to 100% just before a flight.
Although DJI batteries have smarts built in to automatically discharge to 50%, if the battery is not used for a couple of days, this in my opinion could be improved.
I think a better way is by default to have the battery charged to 100% when plugged into the charger. However, overrule this 100% charge with (for example) holding the power button for 2 seconds after plugging in. If this power button press is detected by the battery, the charge will be stopped at 50% (rather than 100%).

I think this will potentially increase the battery life in situations when the drone is not flown regularly and reduces power consumption.

Great idea, I also charge them to 50% for storage, sometimes feels weird just unplugging them like that but i guess it's the thing to do. Would like a more standard way of doing it..
