How the FAA 2022 Remote ID Update will impact your drone!

Another nice find DA.  Unfortunately, the topic of this video really riles me up.  

The rollout of RID by the FAA has been an abomination from the get go.  FAA first contemplated a continuous link via cell coverage.  They then decided that without universal cell coverage that was a non-attainable idea.  Now with a 15-foot accuracy requirement that will probably drive the cost of the remote identification (RID) system way too expensive for recreational flyers.  The other big issue is one of personal safety.  Under the current FAA rule the RID would make the PICs physical location available to anybody and not just law enforcement.  I don’t want a gun toting drone hater knowing a drone pilot’s location.

My 2 cents:  The rules, as currently written, are too far over reaching for non-commercial flyers.  

From reading the article, more than listening, the FAA is more concerned with ALTITUDE than location. Also the last paragraph states that "this policy does not have the force and effect pf law and is not meant to bind the public in any way, "  For now.

Good guess.
And the nicest part is that our neighbors are also having an overlapping holiday.
They have been neighbors in our previous home for 10 years and we became close friends then.
And one year after we moved to our current home, they bought a house behind ours.
Not on that purpose, but they had been on the lookout for that house for a long time. But it was too expensive when it got on the market the previous time.
And now they were lucky.
(right before the big boom of the housemarket that we are seeing these days)

Yes house prices here are silly too,  no way I could afford my first house now at the current prices.

Same here.
I think we will get about 2/5 more now compared to when we got it 4 years ago.
At least € 500.000 now, but I guess more.
A house next to us that is 60% the size, both in ground and the house itself was sold for € 450.000
We paid about € 310.000 when we got it.
Houses never stay on the market for more than a couple of weeks now.
That used to be months.

Thats a remarkable increase.  Shame you cant realise it as everything has gone up.

You only benefit from it if don't have to buy another (new) house after selling.

If you are a recreational flyer, the Mini / 2 is exempt from the new RID regulations...

Which Drone Pilots Must Comply With the Rule?
All drone pilots required to register their UAS must operate their aircraft in accordance with the final rule on remote ID beginning September 16, 2023, which gives drone owners sufficient time to upgrade their aircraft.
