Out for a little sail.....

Caught this strange little boat out for a sail the other day,  unfortunatly for them the tideal barrier was closed so they couldnt get home.

Another great capture DA.    Don't think I've ever seen a sailboat quite shaped like that.

Yes most probably,  I saw them later and they were very annoyed with the guy on the tidal barrier as they had closed it and they were stuck the wrong side.  Not the first time I've seen that lately.

I  would have thought it behoves anyone sailing in those waters to be very aware of the tide tables and leave a safe margin.

The tidal barrier is not closed very often,  its there to stop floods but recently they have been closing it on a regular basis,  I think they are testing something,  I did tweet the environmental agency that maintain it but they didnt respond to me.   Next time its closed I'll grab a shot of it.

I've seen it on TV with Tony Robinson, but never visited personally.

Its a creek that is fed from the Thames,  there are several barriers that protect areas off the thames.

Indeed,  I actually asked the agency on twitter that run the barrier if there is a schedule but they didnt answer me.   I have captured a few shots now with it closed which I will post later.
