Is anyone else having this problem? I am running the first firmware update from December, and have not yet updated to the January firmware that was just released. I will run the update and test this again.

1. The .MOV file format that the Mavic 3 creates (4K/60fps, either CBR or VBR) CAN NOT be trimmed by Quicktime. Quicktime will actually trim the file, but it is unable to save it, it generates the error below when attempting to save:

"Operation stopped. The operation is not supported by this media."

2. The .MP4 file that the Mavic 3 creates, CAN be trimmed and saved by Quicktime.

This leads me to believe that the .MOV container file format that the Mavic creates is deviating from the correct format.

I just trimmed a 4K 60fps CBR Prores clip in a MOV container in Quicktime. Absolutely no issues.

Interesting. My clip was not Prores. I am using Mac OS 12.1 (21C52) Monterey, and Quicktime Version 10.5 (1110.4.21).

Maybe this issue is not affecting the Cine files.

I just confirmed that Quicktime does save the trimmed file when the source is .MP4, but not .MOV.

I'm having the same problem. I have reported the error to Apple and they are looking into it. In my case I'm still on Big Sur (v11.6.3) but I believe this also occurs with Monterey. I have no problem trimming .mov ProRes files from the Inspire 2. But something about the M3C ProRes encoding seems to cause an issue.

I have exactly the same problem. As I record MOV mavic 3 files I cannot shorten the shot using quick time preview. And it doesn't matter if proress or d-log or normal shots. simply the MOV format. MP4 does not have this problem. I wonder if it will be solved, because after the recordings, how the review was done, it made the work much easier to shorten the shots and provide only what can be used

Hi guys,

I did record .MOV with my M3 but my Quicktime (10.5) cannot open files, prompting an "incompatible format" while opening the file.

Any idea about how I can read my video files please ? I am operating on Mac OS X (10.14.16).

Thks
