High winds from then tail end of Storm Malik rendered drone flight impossible today, so the P2 accompanied me on the walk back along the canal towpath from the café.
On a calm day, the water is mirror smooth, with just the gentlest of drift currents from left to right of this viewpoint. However, the wind was so fierce it was snapping twiggy braches from the trees, leaving them strewn along the towpath, and I had to lean into the wind to make headway.
Pausing for breath, I noticed that the water was becoming very choppy, and the flow was reversed.
It’s really pretty there but I bet it’s cold there now. It’s 33F here where I am in Alabama, hopefully the wind will cooperate here so I can fly today lol

It's actually been +9 degrees celsius here today despite the wind. Quite mild for January
Flying was out of the question though.

Lot's of wind there now I see. Are there people living in those boats ? Otherwise they are going to have a wobly night.
I don't think anyone will be suffering from mal-de-mer The boats you see there are all safely moored in a haven. None are occupied, generally. But some others moored at various points along the canal, and occupied, may have a bit of movement.

That doesn’t sound too bad except for the not being able to fly. Hope you have a great day!

Ah, that's a pain...for those lapses I use the Osmo extension stick mounted on a Manfrotto pixl tripod; it's great lightweight travel kit.
I have a collapsible tripodfrom Nemo, which is much more stable than the flimsy one supp;lied with the P2.
We noticed the other day that along the creek there are hundred of Teals, we'd assumed they were ducks. Yes I admit Im getting into bird spotting, even started naming the regulars.

Man, it sure didn't. Weather patterns have changed so much over the last few years. Could be the effects of global warming.
