I've used active track on my MPP in the past but I can't get it to work with the 2s. I have watched a few youtube video just to make sure I was not crazy and missing something but from what I can tell I am doing things the right way.

In short I drag a box around the subject I want to track and the box appears on the bottom with 'Active Track, Spotlight, POI

Spotlight is highlighted in yellow, when I click to change it to Active Track I get an error saying 'Unable to switch subjects. Function only supports following subjects such as people and vehicles.

I have tried ths with mutiple vehicles from different angles and the same with people and get the same warning.

I know that Active Track will not work at the higher frame rates as well. I have tried on C, N, & S, and still no difference. I have tried pretty much all resulotions as well.

I really want to use Active Track today.....any thoughts?

Maybe you are too high at too steep of an angle for it to recognize the human shape.    Have you tried starting out at a lower angle to see if that makes a difference?

Agree with KlooGee, possibly too high. Also from the screenshot, shadows of yourself could be confusing Fly app and the snow environment. Maybe try it on lower height and a better contrast environment say a football or grassy field if possible.

That was just a quick grab of the 'error message'. Yes, I have tried close to a person and vehicle, and pretty much every angle as well and still no luck. Most attempts have been with higher contrast areas, the snow shot was just to grab something to show on the forum.

I have had no problems tracking from that high an angle with the mA2, A2s and M2p. However I did not have those very long shadows.

Hello there Westwind77. I am sorry for the trouble this has caused and thank you for reaching out. Kindly please try flying your DJI air 2S to a different location and environment and try using the Activtrack function of the said DJI drone to see if the issue will persists? Thank you.

I was finally able to get it to work. I think the MPP did a better job initializing, but the 2s will do a better job actually tracking.

What I found is that you have to get somewhat close to the subject for the 2s to recognize what is it, from there you can fly back/up/off and still hold the 'target' and track. It will not 'lock' onto a target if from what I consider to be a reasonable distance.

I know the image above was in the snow but the first three attempts were all done in different locations on the grass or over a road with vehicles with no luck.

Seems to be the key it is get closer than you would with the MPP then back off to where you want to track from.

It will take a bit more time to adjust to the differences I guess, glad to know it works though, finally, ha!
