I can only imagine that this mega ship of his is probably close to a 1/4 to 1/2 a billon.  So look at the jobs, the materials, and now the publicity for the city.  Tourism just went up to see that bridge.

How long will it take you to get there?  I don't know your flight restrictions.  Can you not just fly if low and not a large UAC?

It's easy'ish to get there, flight from Norwich to Amsterdam, train to Rotterdam, but the route is a business route so less than good value...Could fly from stansted which is cheaper, but the weather forecast shows clouds / rain there pretty much forever bar 3hrs on Saturday!
Not given up hope, bit would want decent skies / no rain to go.

Well, I think you will be having a hard time finding a place to fly a drone.
Everything with a color overlay is not allowed.

Yes, depending on the type of drone, you can fly there.
Not above the green part btw, that is Natura2000
But you should be able to fly close to the yard.

I would have loved to capture this in Rotterdam, but that is a big no.

Bar a few hrs this Saturday, the weather kinda looks rough for a few weeks according to the BBC.

Oh yes, there is a lot of drone footage out there. I have seen some video's on a Dutch FB drone group too.

But still, I'm not going to drive 4 hours for a drone shot like this.
That's not worth it for me.
If I was allowed to fly in Rotterdam close to the famous bridges and catch it there, it would be another story.

I usually keep the drone flying close to home, since everything else takes too much time for me.
Unless I have to be somewhere for work and I can squeeze in some flying time. (but with C19, that does not happen too often anymore)
Oh and I still have 600Gb of footage to edit. So the 'need' to capture something is not that big

I heard about that indeed.
Now tbh, I feel it is ridiculous how much money the super rich can accumulate because of their power and influence.
But that does not mean I will be throwing anything at anything.
For me that is just another testimony of how disrupted our earth is right now.

Understood, 4.1K people going, with 14K "interested" the Facebook algorithm at play there, I suspect. It's an old tradition in the UK to pelt people with rotten eggs / vegetables...and the fact that he thinks he can just distmantle what is an elderly monument / bridge because he has the $$$, that would be drone worthy for sure

Give people a voice, while their voice won't change anything for the better so they will feel even worse than before they had a voice.

And yes, he can.
No problem.
And frankly, I don't have an issue with that part (as long as he pays for it).
At least some of that wealth ends up in our economy then.

What is fundamentally wrong behind this is not his fault. He just took advantage over our greedy nature.

Thanks Chris.  I wish we could travel.  Was waiting for covid numbers to go down.  I didn't upgrade to the hero 10. I have the 9 as well.   I just don't see that big of change to warrant the cost of a 10.

yes, GoPro has gotten a lot more costlier now.
Understood re the travel, I've done three short hauls in the past 2 years, Heathrow to Athens twice, face masks at the airport and worn whilst flying, felt reasonably safe..of course a walking holiday in Greece (x2) is going to be safer than being indoors in the UK...The world has seriously changed, am not so sure it will ever be back to 'normal' whatever that is / was...Hope you can travel again soon.

Thanks, I've become proficient at completing passenger locator forms for Greece, Spain and the UK...if you're vaxxed now, I think entry to the UK is no hassles (well apart from the clusterf**k that Brexit has caused us, but if we will be stupid enough to vote for it (not me) ...

For sure, me too.  Even vaccinated, we still have testing.    Seems the Brexit sounds to be misserable by what I've heard for Brits
