Let me see if I can articulate this:
This is just for understanding, as I know I can change the waypoint height. That is not my answer/resolution to my question. As this is only an example of what I hope to understand. It could be anywheresviille.
Example
I want to set waypoints ahead of time from home. 15 miles form location.
Area I will be flying is not a level area.
setting waypoints
waypoint 1 100 feet
waypoint 2 100 feet
in the image where the high rises are is about 60 feet higher than the water line. (waypoint 2, the ground is 60 feet higher than waypoint 1)
I will be setting way point 1 from across the bridge at, say, 100 feet which when flying to the high rises is about middle height of the bridge.
once I get to the other side will the drone fly 100 feet in height from that area, or does it fly 100 feet from waypoint one's AGL reading? Thus only being 40 feet in the air.
Since I am programing waypoint 2 at 100 feet, even tho AGL at high rises is 60 higher from my waypoint 1 was AGL zero.
I hope I was able to ask my question with some clarity and using images.
Again, this could be anywheresville, I am just looking for understanding of how waypoints calculate.
