I bet its a NFZ for security reasons.

I'll bet it is.  Look at the TFR they put up for the Super Bowl.  Beginning at approximately 2:30 p.m. and extending to 8:30 p.m., the TFR will be expanded, prohibiting flights within 30 nautical miles (34.5 miles) of the stadium, from the ground up to 18,000 feet in altitude.

The whole place is festooned with cable-cams. Wire runners everywhere. I wonder if they're classed as tethered drones?

The CAA here excempts tethered aircraft from the rules I believe.

Indeed it is.    The FAA wanted to make a statement with this TFR.  In addition they were threatening enormous fines and confiscation of the drone.

Way too excessive!     FAA wanted to ensure that no drone would be flown over the Super Bowl.  I wouldn't doubt if there weren't some drone busters on location and waiting to be used.

Since I was not going to attend the Super Bowl or be on that coast I didn't check in the DJI Fly App.  However, the UAV Forecast App had the TFR listed.  

I bet its a NFZ for security reasons.

Same here.   Id read they had there own drones for a light show but never thought about the NFZ until after the event.

Seems there were a lot of unhappy drone flyers with the TFR being for 30 miles out.  FAA getting a lot of negative hits in the media for such an overreach.

The FAA just issued another TFR for the President's upcoming trip and the zone is extending double what it has been on previous TFR for his visits.  Not sure what the reasoning is other than been very cautious.

I'm sure there will be.

I guess they forget the real criminals will A.   Ignore them,  B have drones that dont have geozones.

When I watch the coverage I see lots of cable cams but there are also many wide  B roll shots overlooking the venues.  These are unmistakable drone shots.

Just like some states are trying to make guns illegal.  If they succeed then only the criminals will have guns.

Same is true here although it has reduced the number of criminals that have them, but in the USA you have so many it would take a very long time to reduce the numbers Im sure.

Unfortunately, that is never going to happen.  With recent events the demand for personal weapons has tripled.  Weapons manufacturers are running 3 shifts trying to take advantage of the demand at this time.  Even ammo warehouses are having a hard time keeping some caliber ammo in stock.

Didn't someone fly over the dome this year or was that past years?  I don't remember.

So people don't care about the rules and are in it for the thrills.  He posted it on youtube so he was proud of his illegal flight.  I'm sure the FAA is on top of this and he will get a hefty fine.  Too bad they don't confiscate his drone.

Exactly right.  The "violators" only make it harder in the long run for those of us that are compliant with the drone laws.
