Abandoned.........

Im not sure why but people cant seem to help the habit of just abandoning boats.

You've got to wonder how boats end up abandoned like that. Not a cheap thing to just park up somewheer and then forget you left it there!

(Although in this case it looks like it might have been slow sailing to get anywhere!)

Great top down shot DA.    If you zoom in and check out the condition of the boat it does appear that it has been there for a while.  What a shame to just abandon what was a nice boat.

Does some authority come along and remove abandoned boats?

Good shot. Nature has already started to reclaim that hulk. Possibly beyond aconomic repair, so abandoned rather than have the hassle/cost of disposal.

Lovely if slightly morbid shot. Like the line in the sand.

Could it have maybe drifted away from somewhere ?

Cheers DT,    In the tidal areas I dont believe anyone is responsible to remove them,  you see many wrecks around the coast.

Possibly,  I did spot a jet ski that had drifted away last summer.

Nice shot DAF they are always interesting. Now give it 1500 years and archaeologist will e declaring it a ship burial site

We have one of those nearby,  Its called Sutton Hoo its a great story and they made it into a film called The Dig.
