Silwerstroomstrand is located on the West Coast Way Culture Route and is named after the ‘silver stream’ to the north of the resort, which rises from a spring at the edge of the Atlantis Dunefield and supplies water to the town from its underground aquifer.

Silwerstroomstrand, just north of Melkbosstrand, is a Blue Flag beach with excellent water quality and an expansive stretch of coastline in a wonderfully secluded setting.

Silwerstroomstrand Resort is situated alongside a long stretch of attractive coastline with a small bay to the south (Skulpbaai) and the Silwerstroom River to the north.

A small rocky point called Wintersteen provides protection from the swell for safe swimming in the sea, and there is also a tidal pool for those wanting a warmer dip without the waves.

Visitors can make a day of it and relax at one of the various picnic sites and braai areas, or for longer stays, there are comfortable bungalows and a caravan park. Other facilities available include an extensive parking area, several ablution blocks and paved walkways. Lifeguards and law enforcement services are also provided at the beach.

The resort falls within the Cape West Coast Biosphere Nature Reserve. The resort offers conference facilities for approximately 20 people and can be booked for use during the week and over weekends.

Water reservoir tank I believe. Did not know it was there till I flew.

The Blue Flag is a certification given to beaches by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE). A beach that has been awarded the blue flag means that it meets the organisation's standards of environmental management. These standards are for water quality, safety, and public environmental education.

FEE refers to the Blue Flag certificates as awards. They are issued for one year to beaches and marinas of FEE member countries. The awards are announced every year on 5 June for Europe, Canada, Morocco, Tunisia and other countries in a similar geographic location, and on 1 November for the Caribbean, New Zealand, South Africa and other countries in the Southern Hemisphere.[3]

Yep, out of Cape Town a way on the West Coast.
Personally I woud not want to live there but wait..... LOTS of people are migrating back to the Cape from inland - the reverse Groot Trek

No thanks, we have an over-production of wind here, but it is quieting down so usually just before dawn till about 9 am is good for flying in certain spots along the coast but I have an over-representation of the coastline.
Now spending time on honing my handheld skills. Did some footage with the om3 yesterday and for some reason the video kept losing focus
Walked along the local river and even got some footage of Buster the crab.
